Fighting Fevers, Weathering Weakness

I've been battling a sinus infection. At first I blamed feeling crummy on taking antihistamines virtually around the clock; Benadryl at night, Claritin during the day. Then I noticed that my ears felt “stuffy”. For me, that's a sure sign of a sinus infection. I paid attention to my body and I noticed that my weakness was more pronounced, the little bit of my stamina I usually had was nonexistent, and I was aching in places that I don't usually ache. Friday night, I went to bed at 7:00 pm, and slept through to the morning.

I figured it was time to fill my antibiotics. Only I was too weak to get them yesterday, and I forgot to ask my husband to pick them up.

I went today to get them, and the pharmacy was closed for lunch for another 20 minutes. Ugh. To kill time, I picked up a few things that we needed. I checked the time, hoping I had spent enough time wandering around. Sure enough, it was time to get my medicine. Thank goodness!

Pharmacy reopened, I went to the window to get my antibiotics. There was a problem with the paperwork for my script, which meant an additional few minutes waiting while they reprinted my inserts and stuff. As an aside, who would put a script without paperwork with the scripts that are ready to pick up? I mean, that's what they scan, right? Okay, so I'm waiting for the stupid paperwork, and I'm ready to collapse. Those few minutes were excruciatingly long.

I paid for the other items I grabbed while waiting for the pharmacy to reopen, and by the time I got to my car, I was feeling feverish and beyond exhausted.

When a person with an autoimmune disease gets sick, it's amplified. I don't want to play “My cold is worse than yours”, but if you want to know the reason why our common illnesses are horrible for us, you can read this article.

So please pardon my absence yesterday, and another whiny post today. It took me hours to do this, such as it is.
Shut up and take my money
