The Blood Less Traveled

As I suspected, the reason my blood is in Scotland is fairly prosaic, but still not logical, at least to me. And, the results aren't in yet, either.

While the pharmaceutical company pays for costs associated with the study, they use a specific lab called Quintiles. I've been to their website, and they have offices all over the world, including several in the United States, and two right here in New York. My contact doesn't know exactly why my blood was sent to Scotland. Why couldn't they have chosen a place in Europe for my lung function test or MRI? No, only my blood gets to travel. In case you're curious: http://www.quintiles.com/

Now I'm kinda stressing because I have a 45 day window to complete all the hoop jumping before I will be accepted in the study and go for medication randomization. Friday, July 24th is when my window closes. So, not only am I hoping the results of my blood work come back clear, I'm hoping the results come back in time!

And, in the back of my mind is the why...why all these road blocks? Is the Universe trying to tell me something? Maybe I shouldn't participate in this study. Maybe this medicine isn't the answer for me. Maybe I'm being tested to see how much I want to try new medicine.

But, no answers, just more waiting.

And more searching...I found this: http://www.quintiles.com/market/biopharmaceutical-rd

If you're bored or curious, take a look.
